Transforming the New Product Introduction lifecycle

A leading aircraft interiors company wanted to have greater visibility of its new product introduction (NPI) approach and improve performance.

Core Partners immediately set up practical short-term management reports to gain visibility and understanding of the NPI process. Once in place, a full assessment was completed, which highlighted a series of improvement opportunities, including the key finding that the top level NPI gateway did not align with the working procedures controlling the organisation's day to day activities.

Core Partners worked with the client to re-design the end to end NPI process and instigate a full understanding of all processes and inter-relationships. The result was a NPI process structure that could evolve to meet both current and future demands, with stakeholders and process owners fully engaged in the project and new approach.

The client's NPI approach was transformed; time to market was cut from 24 to 18 months, and the next 7 projects were delivered on time and under budget.
